What experience excites you the most? Starting something new? That is for sure!
But did you know that starting something from scratch can also make us nervous?
For example, what happened to me today. This is not the first time I have had an interview after taking a break from work. This is my second interview after resigning from the earlier company.
Why are you nervous, like you have never worked before?
Because my last interview was last year, I can say it is still OK! Because the job being applied for is still not much different from the old job function.
But today, I was nervous because the role I applied for was different from my earlier job.
Why should I look for a different role? Because now I must find a job that can balance my study and family time.
The lesson I take from today’s story is that there is no such thing as a perfect interview. But it is a clever idea to prepare and find out the background of the company we are applying for and the job role we are applying for. And just be yourself!
To anyone who is just starting to look for a job or just like me, who is starting a career (again) from the scratch or trying to change your career path again, good luck!
